In the City of North Miami Beach, illustrious personalities who with their work have made a significant contribution to Colombian society were decorated and this time for the first time in the United States with the “ORDER LAW AND DEMOCRACY FRANCISCO DE PAULA SANTANDER” is named after the “The Man of Laws”, Prócer de la Independencia, statesman and military, Former President of the Republic one of the most important Order of the Republic of Colombia who is one of the most important symbols.
The honorees were the Mayor of North Miami Beach Anthoo F. DeFillipo, Mayor of Medley – Miami Roberto Martell and Dr. Ambassador Luis Suarez Hermandez.
The ceremony took place on March 24, 2021, at 10:00 am at the North Miami Beach City Hall. Also for the first time is the flag of Colombia.
At the event were community personalities such as Edenia Hernandez – Director of North Miami Beach Discovery Library, Geo Herrera – President of Helping Florida, Kimberly Gomez – Chen Senior Medical Center publicist, Engineer Hernando Murcia, Shirley Zarate, Luisa Fernanda Casasbuenas Rodriguez, Juan Álvarez, Nélida Rodriguez, Gustavo Casasbuenas Vivas and Armando Lobo as press. The diplomas are being signed by former first lady Martha Blanco de Lemos wife of former Colombian President Carlos Lemos Simmonds and by Gustavo Casabuenas Vivas Executive President of the Colombian Press Society.
