The Jamaican Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 60th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence in style at Signature Grand in David – Florida. AKBS was represented by Dr. Luis Suarez (Director of AKBS Social Community Program, Ambassador of Machupicchu / Peru and Galapagos / Ecuador and President / Founder of the Miami Ambassadors Lions Club).

At the event were consuls from different parts of the world representing their countries and supporting Jamaicans. It was organized by the Jamaican Chamber of Commerce, led by President Marie R. Gill and her board.

The Consul General of Jamaica, R. Oliver Mair, expressed his gratitude to all those present for their support of his country and a special thanks to the consuls present who were Joanne Brooks (Consul General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago), Dianne C. Perrotte (Consul General of Grenada), Kazuhiro Nakai (Consul General of Japan), Susan Harper (Consul General of Canada), Fercinta Louisy (Consul General of Saint Lucia), George Hamilton (Consul General of the Republic of Sierra Leone),  among others.

Were part of this important celebration U. Desmond Alufohai (Protocol Director of the International Relations Division of the Department of Miami-Dade Aviation), Dale Holness (Former Mayor of Broward), Joshua Ho (Program Director of the Asian American Advisory Board), Paola Pierre (Human Resources Consultant and Human Resources Specialist of the City of North Miami), ect.

The people who were part of the panel were Ms. Elena Mendez – Regional Director of EXIM Bank, Mr. Anthony Barbar – Investment Advisor in Jamaica, Dr. Marlene Street Forrest – General Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, Gordon Gill – World-renowned in FAIA and Nicole Hayles – Public Relations Marketing Director for the National Land Agency.
